Peter Le Baige commented on Leanne Rattray's blog post Love prisms
"Yes, and the great thing about this and poetry in general is that I defy anyone to say that they imagined the scene literally as Leanne explained below; that is, I doubt any of us really imagined actual prisms hanging in the trees, which was the…"

Hi Peter

I've often wondered what it might be like to be part of a live poetry reading group. Be rather cool I think to read out to others your own poetry and to listen to theirs. Haven't got around to searching out any near me but what I have decided to do is to print my poetry and make them into Christmas gifts for friends and family. Working on a layout now and haven't decided whether to get one of the big printing places to do it or do it myself at work. we have an excellent colour copier and all the binding stuff needed and I'm thinking it might be fun to work on some graphics etc..anyway hope you and yours are all well. Take care.

Hello Peter

So nice to know you're coming home, thank you for all your wonderful comments to my work I'm so admiring of our poetry site and the wealth of talented poets we have there - there's a deep sense of pride I get from reading everyone's work feeling a sense of belonging to and being part of such a great collective. As one gets older suddenly there's an urgency to strengthen connections especially with family - a cup of tea would be nice.

Hello again. Thank you for this note. You might have seen more of Italy than I have! Yes, I went there a lot, sometimes twice a year - all my family are there. I've lived there twice and attended school in 79-80. My mum's home town is Rieti - 80km NE of Rome (not far from Assisi). I don't know the Greek writer you mention. But I recently bought a book on Francis, which i haven't read yet. I have been buying more books than I can read lately. I should like 20 life times so that I could read everything I would like to read (among other things too!). I'd take the trouble to learn Greek (maybe Latin) so that I could read Sophocles (and the rest) in the original. At the moment I am learning French; I can read ok, but I daren't speak it. But that's alright: I just want to be able to read some of these French poets I've heard so much about. I notice you have traveled. You're in China, I see. You play guitar (me too). And in that poem you wrote about my 3 best song writers. I especially love Cohen. OK, enough rambling from me. Bye for now.

Hi Peter,

Thank you very much for this; you might have guessed that I admire your work too. Dante: even an Italian needs to consult the footnotes: as you would expect the language has changed in the 700 years since it was written. I know (modern) Italian by virtue of being Italian; I was born and brought up in London, but both my parents were from that country.

Thanks again,

Mark

Hi!

Thanks so much for your comments on 'Cricket'. I'm glad 'ostinato' struck ... er...a chord with you! (A feeble musician's joke!) All joking aside, your remarks are much appreciated. I love crickets too!
